Ancaster is a quaint and growing community located in the city of Hamilton, Ontario on the Niagara Escarpment, with a population of approximately 40,000 residents. It is also one of the oldest European communities in Ontario.

1. The Ancaster Farmer’s Market

The Ancaster Farmer’s Market has been a staple in the community since 2009. It opens from mid-June to mid- October and serves the local residents on a weekly basis. There is a strong relationship between the farmer’s providing affordable food and the community having access to locally grown fresh produce. It is located centrally behind St. John’s Anglican Church and attracts numerous patrons yearly. Come by and experience all the goods the vendors have to offer.

2. A Great Location

An excellent location as it is close to various amenities many of which are a short walk or bicycle ride away. For those wishing to venture out of the Ancaster community, the neighbouring cities of Brantford, Hamilton, and Oakville are nearby. Drive to Brantford in 20 minutes, Hamilton in 15 minutes, Oakville in about 30 minutes and Toronto just over an hour away. Looking for a further trip by plane, the Hamilton International Airport is conveniently located 10 minutes away so jetting off is easy and convenient.

3. A Vibrant Art and Music Scene

This small town has an exciting and vital art scene. So many events are held in Ancaster on a yearly basis. There is the Ancaster Film Fest, with a wide array of films to view; the Brott Musical Festival, from Classical Opera to Rock; the Creations Gallery, featuring a wide selection of works by Canadian and International artists; Hamilton All Star Jazz Bands, comprised of musicians 16-25 years of age; and Music at Fieldcote, a high caliber of local, national and international musicians. So much to do in this vibrant community.

4. Nature Conservation Areas

Beautiful conservation areas close by to Ancaster include Tiffany Falls, the Dundas Conservation area, Iroquoia Heights Conservation Area and Hermitage Falls. Go for a long adventurous hike and don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the beautiful sights. If relaxation is a priority, then how about a quiet picnic where you can just sit and enjoy the scenery. Or bring a book to read as you listen to the gentle trickle of water flowing by. Whatever you are looking for in nature you can find here including trails for biking, running, and walking.

5. Numerous Services Right in Town

Plenty of healthcare and aesthetic services; No need to venture out of town for your healthcare needs with the vast array of dental experts, physiotherapists, physicians, veterinarians, and aesthetic services right here. There is even a foot clinic under the care of a Chiropodist.
